I’m a month late on sharing photos from my Colorado trip, but it’s better late than never, right?
There was hiking, there was good beer (lots of it), and there was good food—the makings of a successful vacation. But Colorado sure threw me for a loop with the hot weather and sporadic showers. Whenever I picture Colorado in my mind, I see mountain ranges capped with snow and people dressed in skiing gear year round. Don’t laugh at my ignorance! It goes to show how much I know about that part of the world!
My friends and I decided to take a hike at Rocky Mountain National Park, in part to appreciate nature’s splendor, in part to burn off the 100 pints of beer we drank the day before. What was supposed to be an easy 2 to 3 mile hike turned into a 4 hour trek. I nearly died of thirst, but at least I go to see these beautiful views!
On to tour the New Belgium brewery!
When we got to within 50 feet of the brewery, we could smell the sweet scent of beer in the midst of fermentation. So glorious.
Tea time at Celestial Seasonings!
And how can you not go to a baseball game when you’re in Denver? (For those of you who are curious, the Rockies lost to the Padres that night. It was probably that California juju my friends and I brought with us.)
That night, we also saw so many pedal hoppers roaming the streets (essentially open bars on a bus that is powered by the pedaling of the party people on the bus). How I wanted to hop on one of them and join the party! Me and my college friends can do so much damage on one of those things!
Colorado, you’re beautiful. Don’t ever change!
xo, Lisa.
